Cold Case Homicide – Help Us Bring Justice for Sharalyn Murphy
September 20, 2025 – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 4, 1994, the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office recovered a pair of hands in a garbage bag on the shore of New Melones Reservoir located in California.
On December 13, 1994, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office recovered a nude, headless, and handless female body six miles from the Reservoir.
The hands and the body were connected and identified as those of 23-year-old Sharalyn Murphy. Sharalyn was originally from the State of Washington but moved to Sacramento, CA in 1993.
The remainder of Sharalyn’s body has never been recovered.
