August 17, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff's Office officials report that Sheriff Boudreaux wants to make the public aware of the latest phone scam going around, and make sure YOU don’t fall victim to it!
TCSO Headquarters has received about five calls from members of the community saying they got calls that they have warrants for missing jury duty. They are then told to send payments or they will be arrested.
Don’t be fooled by phone scammers! If you’re wanted by law enforcement, we will not call you on the phone but instead knock on your door or arrange an appointment.
If you get a call from a phone scammer, here’s what you should do:
- Say, “No, thank you,” and hang up the phone.
- Do not send money.
- Do not give them your personal information.
- If you become a victim, contact law enforcement.
